About Allied Printing
We’ve been part of the Huntsville community since January 1970, when Jim Burruss opened Allied Photocopy on Traylor Island. That’s over 56 years of serving this city through every chapter of its growth — from the early space race days to the booming Rocket City you see today. We’re not a franchise, not a chain. We’re a family-owned shop that grew up right here alongside you.
Allied is owned and operated by Victor Burruss and Natalie Burruss Tate, the second generation of the Burruss family. The same family that started this business in 1970 is still running it today. When you work with us, you’re working with the owners — not a call center, not a regional manager. Us.
We’re at 1821 University Drive NW, Huntsville, AL 35801 — and we’ve been at this location since 1987. Walk-ins are welcome. If you’re coming in with a big project or a lot of questions, giving us a call ahead of time means we can make sure the right person is available for you.
Yes. Allied Digital Printing holds a GSA federal contract certification, which means we’re an approved vendor for federal government agencies. If your organization works with federal purchasing requirements, we can work within that framework. Give us a call and we’ll walk you through the details.
Pretty much the full Huntsville spectrum. Small businesses refreshing their storefronts. Corporations outfitting fleets or fitting out new offices. Schools, churches, nonprofits running events or recognition programs. Medical facilities and institutions that need clean, professional wayfinding. Realtors staging properties. Families celebrating milestones. Government agencies and federal contractors. If you need something printed, cut, wrapped, or branded — we’ve probably done something a lot like it.
When you order online, you’re submitting a file into a black box. With us, you’re talking to someone who has actually run that job on our equipment. We catch file problems before they become expensive surprises. We can see your project in person if needed. We know Huntsville’s climate, signage regulations, and what materials hold up in Alabama heat. And if something’s not right, you don’t open a support ticket — you call us.
We do our best to accommodate tight timelines, especially for our regular clients. Rush availability depends on what’s already on the production floor. The earlier you call, the more options we have. Don’t sit on a deadline — reach out as soon as you know you need something fast.

We work best with print-ready PDF, AI (Adobe Illustrator), or EPS files. For raster images, we accept PSD, TIFF, and high-resolution PNG or JPG — but vector files are always preferred for anything that needs to scale. If you’re not sure what you have, send it over and we’ll take a look.
For most large format printing, 100–150 DPI at final print size is standard. For smaller format pieces like business cards or brochures, 300 DPI is the target. If you’re scaling up a logo or image and it’s not vector, come talk to us before you finalize anything — we can often find a better path forward than stretching a pixelated file.
Not at all. Some clients come in with a finished, print-ready file. Others come in with a napkin sketch and an idea. Our in-house design team can take you from concept to camera-ready artwork. Either way, we make it work.
Our current minimum order is $10. For larger custom projects like vehicle wraps, sign installations, or bulk print runs, pricing scales with scope — we’ll walk you through it during the quote process.
Color is one of those things that looks different on every monitor and prints differently on every material. For critical color work — especially brand colors — we recommend a proof before you commit to a full run. We’ll work with you to get it dialed in. If you have Pantone references for your brand colors, bring those.
We do our best to maintain files for our regular clients. For large or complex projects, confirming that we still have your file before you need a reorder is always a good idea. Things like design revisions and version updates can complicate the file history, so a quick check saves headaches.
Yes, and for anything where color accuracy or layout precision matters, we strongly encourage it. Some quick-turn commodity jobs move straight to production, but we’ll always tell you that upfront. If you want a proof, ask for one — we’d rather spend five minutes on a proof than reprint a job.
Vehicle Wraps
A professionally installed, quality vehicle wrap typically lasts five to seven years with proper care. Longevity depends on the material used, how the vehicle is stored, how it’s washed, and exposure to sun and weather. We use Avery Dennison materials and install every wrap ourselves — we stand behind the work.
It starts with a consultation — we want to understand what you’re going for, whether that’s a full color-change wrap, a branded fleet vehicle, or a partial wrap with your logo and contact info. From there, we design the artwork scaled to your specific vehicle’s template, you approve the design, and we schedule the installation. Most installs take one to three days depending on the complexity and vehicle size.
We wrap cars, trucks, vans, trailers, boats, and more. If it has a surface, we can probably wrap it. Some vehicles with significant rust, damage, or previous bodywork may have limitations — wrap material adheres to the surface it’s applied to, so condition matters. We’ll let you know if there are any concerns during the consultation.
When installed and removed correctly, a quality vehicle wrap protects your paint rather than harming it. The wrap acts as a shield from UV, minor abrasion, and light road debris. When you’re ready to remove it, the adhesive is designed to release cleanly from factory paint in good condition. We’ve been doing this since 2016 and have a strong track record with paint-safe installs.
Hand washing is best. Avoid high-pressure washes and automatic brush car washes — they can lift edges and cause premature wear. Use a gentle soap, rinse well, and dry with a soft cloth or let it air dry. Keep it out of direct sun when parked long-term if you can. We’ll give you a full care card after your install.
A full wrap covers the entire vehicle — roof, hood, doors, bumpers, everything. It’s the most dramatic transformation and gives you maximum brand real estate. A partial wrap covers a defined portion of the vehicle — often the rear half, doors, or a band across the sides — and pairs the printed areas with the vehicle’s existing paint. Partial wraps are a great middle ground between budget and impact.
Typically yes, with a removable wrap. Most lease agreements allow wraps as long as the vehicle is returned in its original condition, and removable wraps are designed to do exactly that. Check your specific lease terms first, and let us know it’s a leased vehicle so we use the appropriate materials.
Absolutely — fleet wrapping is one of our specialties. Consistent branding across multiple vehicles is where we shine. We maintain your design files so reorders are straightforward, and we can stagger installs to minimize disruption to your operations. Fleet clients can also ask about our volume pricing.
Signs & Banners
The list is long. Coroplast yard signs, foam board displays, Gatorboard rigid signs, aluminum composite (ACM) panels, acrylic signage, retractable banners, fabric banners, mesh banners, window graphics, perforated window vinyl, floor graphics, wall wraps, directional and wayfinding signage, A-frame signs, event signage, trade show displays — and that’s a typical week. If you have something in mind that’s not on that list, ask us anyway. You can also browse more on our services page.
Material selection. Outdoor signs need to handle UV exposure, humidity, temperature swings, and wind. We select materials and inks specifically rated for outdoor longevity. Indoor signs have more flexibility — they can be lighter, use a wider range of finishes, and focus more on aesthetics than durability. Tell us where the sign is going and we’ll spec the right material from the start.
A quality vinyl banner under normal outdoor conditions typically holds up for two to four years. Heavy wind exposure, direct UV, and coastal humidity can shorten that. We print with HP Latex inks, which are designed for outdoor longevity and UV resistance. If you need maximum durability, we can discuss lamination options as well.
For many projects, yes. Installation availability depends on the type of sign and scope of the job. Give us the details and we’ll let you know what we can do. For large-format exterior installations, we’ll coordinate with you on logistics.
Yes, and this is a strong category for us. Retractable banner stands, step-and-repeat backdrops, fabric tension displays, table covers, foam board displays — we outfit exhibitors and event coordinators regularly. If you have a show or event coming up, the earlier you get to us the better. Trade show deadlines don’t flex.
We work to get as close as possible. Digital printing has a broad color gamut but it’s not infinite, and colors on screen always look different than colors on print media. If you have Pantone color references for your brand, bring them — that gives us the clearest target. For critical brand color work, a proof is worth the time.
Large Format Printing
Our HP Latex printers handle media up to 64 inches wide. For rigid flatbed printing on our HP Latex R1000 & R530, we can print directly on sheets, panels, and boards. If your project has unusual dimensions, bring them to us — we’re good at figuring out how to make large-scale work happen.
Vinyl, canvas, fabric, adhesive-backed films, foam core, Gatorboard, corrugated plastic (coroplast), aluminum composite panels, acrylic, polycarbonate, wood panels, and more. Rigid substrates go on our flatbed. Roll media runs on our roll-to-roll printers. The right material depends on your application — indoor, outdoor, how it’ll be mounted, how long it needs to last.
Yes. We print with HP Latex inks, which are water-based and low-odor. They’re well-suited to sensitive environments like healthcare facilities, schools, and offices. No VOCs, no off-gassing concerns after installation.
Absolutely. We print and stretch canvas in-house. Fine art reproductions, family photos, custom artwork, business photography — we treat every image with the attention it deserves. If you have a file and you want it on canvas, let’s talk about size and finish options.
Graphic Design & Branding
Yes, in-house. We’re not outsourcing your design to a third party — our design team is right here. We do logo design, brand identity systems, vehicle wrap design, sign layouts, marketing collateral, brochures, direct mail, event graphics, and prepress work. If it needs to look good before it gets printed, we can design it.
Perfect — bring it. We work with your existing brand assets every day. Give us your files, your brand colors, any fonts you use, and any usage guidelines, and we’ll make sure everything we produce stays consistent with what you’ve already built.
We start by understanding what you need and why. Then we produce initial concepts, you give us feedback, we refine, and we go again until it’s right. For print projects, the final deliverable is a print-ready file we take straight to production. The number of revision rounds varies by project scope — we’ll outline that when we quote the job.
Absolutely. If your designer produces the creative and you need us to prepare it for print — color conversion, bleed setup, file cleanup, proofing — that’s a service we offer. Better to catch a file problem before the job runs than after.
Printing & Direct Mailing
Business cards, letterhead, envelopes, brochures, rack cards, postcards, flyers, booklets, folders, presentation materials, table tents, menus, door hangers, and more. If it’s a piece of print marketing, we’ve probably run it.
Yes. We can handle design, print, and mail coordination for direct mail pieces. If you have a targeted mailing list or want to hit a specific geographic area, we can walk you through the options. Getting physical mail into the right hands is still one of the most effective ways to reach local customers.
Standard business cards and common collateral pieces typically run within a few business days once files are approved. Rush options may be available depending on our production schedule. Call us if you have a hard deadline.
Retail Products — Stickers, Magnets & Journals
Yes! We have a growing selection of retail products available at our front counter. Right now that includes our Huntsville-themed bumper stickers and sticker packs — Rocket City pride, NASA and Redstone tributes, local humor, and family designs. More products are in the works, including magnets and journals from our bindery, and specialty sticker collections.
Absolutely. Custom stickers and decals are one of our core capabilities. Bring your design or work with our design team to create one. Quantities, sizes, and materials are all flexible. We print kiss-cut, die-cut, and contour-cut stickers depending on what the application calls for.
We’re building out a small retail line of journals and stationery produced on our in-house bindery. Availability varies — check with us in person or keep an eye on our website. If you’re interested in custom stationery for an event, business, or personal use, we can quote that as a custom job as well.
Carlson Craft — Personalized Stationery, Invitations & Home Décor
Carlson Craft is one of the country’s leading personalized stationery and gifting suppliers. Allied Digital Printing is an authorized Carlson Craft dealer, which means you get access to their full product catalog — with us as your local point of contact. You come to us, we help you choose and customize what you need, and Carlson Craft produces and ships it. You get the quality of a national specialty supplier with someone local to actually help you through the process.
The catalog is extensive. Wedding stationery — invitations, save the dates, RSVP cards, programs, thank you cards. Birth announcements and baby shower invitations. Birthday and milestone celebrations. Holiday cards. Personalized home décor. Custom gifts and keepsakes. Address labels and correspondence stationery. If you can put a name or monogram on it and want it to look beautiful, Carlson Craft probably has a version of it.
For weddings, four to six months ahead of your event is the standard recommendation, and that’s with some breathing room. Factor in time to choose your design, finalize wording, review a proof, allow for production, and allow for mailing. If you’re getting married in the next couple of months and haven’t ordered yet, come see us as soon as possible — we’ll be honest with you about what’s achievable.
Yes. We have sample materials available in our shop so you can feel the paper stocks, see the print quality, and get a sense of what finished pieces actually look and feel like. This is one of the real advantages of working with a local dealer rather than ordering blindly online.
Customization is the whole point. You choose your design, paper stock, ink colors, envelope liner, and every word of the wording. We’ll help you proof it carefully before anything goes to press. Wording errors on invitations are painful — we take that part seriously.
Absolutely. Talk to us about your specific situation. Addressing options vary by order type. For large wedding mailings, we can discuss what makes sense for your timeline and budget.
Promotional Items — Branded Merchandise & Corporate Swag
Yes — through our promotional products portal, we offer a full range of branded merchandise. Drinkware, apparel, bags, pens, notebooks, tech accessories, trade show giveaways, employee recognition items, and much more. If you want your logo on it and you want to give it to someone, we can almost certainly make that happen.
You start by telling us what you’re looking for — either a specific product or a use case and a budget. We help you identify the right items from the catalog, submit your logo, review a proof, approve it, and place the order. Lead times vary by product, so the earlier in your planning cycle you reach out, the better.
Minimums vary significantly by product. Some items start at as few as 12 pieces; others require higher quantities to make production economical. Tell us what you’re working with and we’ll find the right fit. Larger quantities almost always mean lower per-unit cost, so if you can commit to volume, the math gets more interesting.
Yes, and this is one of our most common promotional product scenarios. Trade shows, corporate events, grand openings, fundraisers, employee onboarding kits — branded giveaways are a staple. Build in at least three to four weeks of lead time for standard orders. For anything complex or large-volume, six to eight weeks is safer. Don’t wait until the week before the event.
That’s part of what we’re here for. We’ve seen a lot of promotional programs — the ones that work and the ones that end up in a closet. Tell us who you’re trying to reach, what the occasion is, and what you’re hoping people do with the item, and we’ll give you an honest recommendation rather than just selling you whatever has the biggest margin.
Absolutely. Schools, churches, nonprofits, booster clubs, PTAs — these are communities we’re genuinely glad to serve. If you’re working with a tight budget, tell us. We’ll help you find the highest-impact option within what you have to work with.
Anyone can order. Whether you need 50 custom koozies for a family reunion, personalized gifts for a wedding party, or branded merchandise for a personal project — the catalog is open to you. We’ll work with you the same way we work with our corporate clients.
