Serving Huntsville since 1970

Community involvement

Allied Digital Printing has been part of the Huntsville community since 1970 — and being part of a community means more than printing signs and wrapping trucks. It means showing up when there’s something worth doing. As a local print shop, we work with materials every single day that can be put to better use. And as a Huntsville business with over fifty years of roots here, we know the people and places that make this city worth investing in.

These are the ways Allied Digital Printing gives back to the community we’ve called home for more than five decades.

Every day our large-format printers and cutters produce leftover material — foam board, vinyl, corrugated plastic, and more. Our Classroom Scrap Sponsorship Program delivers those production scraps to Huntsville-area classrooms as free creative materials for students.

Our Roots in huntsville

A Print Shop Built on Community Involvement

Allied Digital Printing started in 1970, a small operation founded by Jim Burruss right here in Huntsville. The Allied name was born in March 1974 at One Traylor Island, and the company moved to its current home on University Drive in March 1986. Today, Allied is owned and operated by Victor Burruss and Natalie Burruss Tate — the second generation of a family that has never left this city.

Over the decades, we’ve printed banners for Huntsville’s schools, wrapped vehicles for its businesses, built signs for its churches, and produced displays for its hospitals. We’ve seen this city grow from a small Southern town into a technology and defense hub — and we’ve grown alongside it. Our equipment has changed, our capabilities have expanded, and the way people find us has shifted from the Yellow Pages to Google. But the core of what we do hasn’t changed: a local family shows up, does the work, and stands behind it.

That history is why community involvement isn’t a marketing strategy for us — it’s just how a family business operates when it’s been in the same place for over fifty years. You take care of the community because the community has taken care of you. The schools that hang our banners are the same schools our families attended. The businesses we wrap trucks for are run by people we see at the grocery store. That’s Huntsville, and that’s Allied.

When we started thinking about what community involvement looks like for a print shop, the answer was obvious: share what we have. We have materials. We have equipment. We have expertise in turning ideas into physical things you can hold, hang, stick, and display. So that’s what we’re putting to work — starting with the classrooms that need it most and expanding from there.
