The Full Story: Shane and Brian Are Avery Dennison Certified Wrap Installers

Shane and Brian came home from Avery Dennison's CWI exam certified — and no other wrap shop between Nashville and Birmingham can say that. This is the full story we promised: what the exam actually is, and what it means for your wrap.

When we announced this on social media and we promised the full story on the blog: so, here it is!

Shane and Brian — the two installers behind every wrap that leaves our shop — are now officially Avery Dennison Certified Wrap Installers. That makes ours the only certified wrap shop between Nashville and Birmingham.

We want to walk you through what that actually means, because “certified” gets thrown around loosely in this industry — and this particular certification is not loose.

What the CWI Exam Actually Is

Avery Dennison makes the vinyl much of the wrap industry runs on, and their Certified Wrap Installer credential is described in their own words as one of the toughest certifications in the industry. They recommend an installer have at least ten full wraps of experience before even attempting it.

The exam itself is five graded modules, performed live in front of an Avery Dennison certified trainer: a written exam, a digitally printed hood, a color-change front fender, a printed door panel with window perforation, and a cutting test. Hoods, fenders, recesses, edges — the parts of a vehicle that punish shortcuts. There’s no partial credit and no talking your way through it. You either meet the standard or you don’t.

They both met it.

A sincere thank-you to Blake Madsen for the instruction and to the crew at White Rabbit Wraps for hosting. The wrap world is a small one, and the good parts of it run on people like that.

What It Means When You Order a Wrap From Us

The skill is verified, not claimed. Anyone can say “experienced installers.” This is the company that manufactures the material grading the work with their own hands and putting the result in writing.

The result is repeatable. That’s the real point of certification — not a badge on the wall. It means the vinyl goes down right the first time, it stays down through Alabama summers, and it comes off clean years later without taking your paint with it. Certification is the manufacturer confirming that outcome isn’t luck; it’s technique, and it happens the same way on every vehicle.

It’s rare in our corner of the map. As of this writing, ours is the only wrap shop between Nashville and Birmingham with Avery Dennison Certified Wrap Installers on staff.

Congratulations to Shane and Brian - Avery Dennisons certified wrap installers in Northern Alabama! Why We Did It

Shane and Brian have been doing this work at a high level for years — we didn’t send them to Indiana to learn how to wrap. We sent them because there’s a difference between us saying our installers are good and the manufacturer testing that claim and signing their name to it. Now they know it, and you can stand by that.

For a business putting its name on a vehicle — or a whole fleet of them — that difference matters. It’s the answer to the question you should ask any wrap shop before you hand them your keys: who says you’re good at this, besides you?

And this isn’t the finish line. There’s more we want to learn, and we intend to keep raising the bar in our corner of Alabama.
